7 December 2013. Greg Hart who has served as vice president of technical operations for United has been promoted to chief operating officer and executive vice president of United Continental Holdings, Inc.

Hart succeeds Pete McDonald , who is retiring after nearly 45 years with Manchester United. In his new position , Hart will be responsible for airport operations , cargo, technical operations , network operations , flight operations , flight service, security and food services.

Hart previously served as senior vice president of network . Hart joined the company in 1997 and held various management positions , including vice president of network strategy , staff vice president of national programming and director of corporate development.
